Lobsters, anyone? As we say goodbye to July and move into August, get ready to have a great time at the annual Maine Lobster Festival in Rockland, Maine.
What began as a way to help revitalize the mid-coast Maine communities has become an internationally-recognized celebration of local seafood; with thousands travelling near and far to experience The Maine Lobster Festival. This annual festival takes place during the first weekend of August, from Wednesday through Sunday, with five days of feasting and fun on the scenic coast of Maine. Each year this festival offers fresh, local lobster dinners, seafood cooking contests, nationally renowned entertainers, local craftsmen and artists, carnival rides and more with something for everyone to enjoy.
Since its inception in 1947, the Maine Lobster Festival has donated more than $500,000 to Midcoast Maine’s communities, supporting high school sports teams, local food pantries, local emergency services, community service groups and college scholarships for graduating high school seniors. As a not-for-profit organization, they take pride in giving back to their community.
